On 25th September, 2016 I ran the Berlin Marathon, to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK. I completed the 26.2 mile course in a personal best time of 4hr 20mins, raising £760.
On 24th February 2017 I will be competing in the Tel Aviv Marathon and welcome your continued support for Prostate Cancer UK
In 2012 there were more than 43,000 new cases of prostate cancer in the UK. More than 10,000 men die of prostate cancer every year – that’s around one every hour. Prostate cancer is the third most common cancer in the UK and 1 in 8 men will get it during their lifetime.
Prostate cancer rates have more than doubled since the late 1970’s
Don’t be ostrich and bury your head in the sand about the risks of prostate cancer. So far research has failed to clearly link any preventable risk factors.
Prostate Cancer UK has invested millions of pounds into research, services and awareness including Specialist Nurses and one-to-one support. It’s why they lead the way in providing prostate education to medical professionals.
You will be able to show your support by sponsoring me to run in Berlin.
Think of 8 men that you know and now imagine one of them with cancer. That’s the reality of prostate cancer. Your support will help find ways to beat prostate cancer and allow men to live happier healthier lives.
